Seaham Red Star 5 Alnwick Town 0
Alnwick Town continued their run of bad form with a 5-0 drubbing at Seaham Red Star this afternoon.
They could be forgiven for wishing the weather, which had put paid to the previous three fixtures, had intervened again.
Alnwick looked to have got off to a promising start when they won a penalty half an hour in.
But Keith Douglas missed the shot and it was 0-0 at half-time.
After the restart, Seaham, sitting third in the Ebac Northern League Division Two before today’s game, were quick to take control and slotted home five goals for an emphatic victory.
The black and whites are still desperate to pull away from the relegation zone.
Esh Winning, two places behind Alnwick, also suffered a defeat today but there was a win for Stokesley, one place above Town.
Alnwick take on Brandon United, also fighting a relegation battle, at home on Tuesday.
