Alnwick Ladies kick off
Alnwick Town Ladies kicked off their new competitive season at the weekend with both their first and second teams in action.
The first team were at home to Lumley in the NE Women’s League and they started with a 2-1 win, their goals coming from Catherine Johnston and Caitlin Black. Player of the match was Kirstie Tang.
The recently formed seconds, the Development team, travelled to Ashington Town for their opening game in the Northumberland County League and they returned with a point following a 1-1 draw.
Their goal was scored by Chloe Young and the nominated player of the match was Jenny Patterson.
