Whitley Bay Whites U10 0 Alnwick Cobras U10 1

Pin Point U10 NE Youth Divisional Cup

Alnwick Cobras travelled away to Whitley Bay Whites on Sunday for their first league game of the season.

This was always going to be a tough game against a decent Whitley Bay side.

Cobras started quickest and it was not long before the chances came. Marco Makenley shooting wide, Jay McEwan found himself one on one with the keeper who pulled off a great save.

Archie Smith found space on the edge of the box and hit a shot just over the bar.

The second half was a midfield battle with Cameron Atwell winning with some great tackling.

Then the breakthrough came when Smith took a corner for Reece Graham to head a great header into the net, to make the score 0-1.

But this did not stop Whitley Bay who started to create chances but a brilliant display of goal keeping from Robbie Parker kept them at bay.

Cobras had good chances to close the game out but some bad finishing made it a nervous few minutes.

Cobras struggled with their passing, but made up for it with great attitude commitment and every player working their socks off.
