Coquet Shorebase Trust windsurfers competed at Derwent Reservoir on Sunday in the third Team 15 (15 years and under) event this season.
The Coquet Crushers were locked in watery battle with the Kielder Kestrels and the Derwent Devils.
Sailing for the Crushers, Owen Grant made his debut, taking part in the 3.5 races (a sail 3.5 metres square).
He did the Crushers proud, beaten by more experienced sailors, but, preparing well, was first off the shore on every race.
The 4.8 and 5.8 competitions were fought between the Kestrels and Devils, but the Crushers entered three sailors in the 6.8 fleet.
Eight gruelling races later, with two laps per race, and first, second and third trophies were in the bag for the Crushers – to Philip Heywood, Aaron Hobbs and Leonardo Takiguchi respectively.
