Colour in water was a good sign for cod

A dying northerly sea with lots of colour in the water meant conditions for cod were still good.

This week’s winner was Anthony Gibbison with seven codling for 13lb 8oz, second was Willie Morton three cod 6lb 14½oz, third was Micky Buck with two cod for 6lb 14oz.

Mick had the heaviest fish of the match, a cod of 5lb 6oz.

Other anglers weighing in were: Kevin Donnelly, one cod, 1lb 12oz; Patrick Porteous, one cod, 1lb 8oz; Ian Hall, one cod, 1lb 6½oz; Steve McKee, one cod, 1lb 3oz; Adrian Hornsby, one coal, 1lb 3oz.

Ladies Fishing

Ladies Fishing ( are holding their last event for 2012 at Chatton Trout Fishery ( with the Chatton ladies on Sunday, December 9.

The event will be a day of festive fun and fishing with expert tuition and advice as always.

The day will include safety talks, fun competition, junior fly dressing on a brooch, raffle and much more including a special appearance from Santa and his helper.

The cost of the day will be £20 for adults and £5 juniors – this includes lunch for everyone, aaterials for junior fly dressing on a brooch and a gift from Santa for all the juniors.
