Alnwick Sea Angling Club

The first match of the winter season was fished on Sunday and it was good to see a new member returning to the club.

Conditions were not ideal but with a slight southerly wind picking up there was a chance of some fish.

It was a good start to the season, with most anglers managing to catch and weigh in.

Winner was Steve McKee with two cod for 7lb 15oz. Steve also had the heaviest fish, a cod of 5lb ½oz.

Second was Clive Miller with three cod for 5lb 4oz and third was John Stephenson with one cod for 4lb 4½oz.

Other anglers weighing in were Steve Scott, three cod, 3lb 11½oz; Ian Hall, two cod, 3lb 2oz; Antony Abbott, one cod, 3lb; Roberto Peruzzo, two cod, 2lb 14oz; Anthony Gibbison, one cod, 2lb 11½oz; Paul Johnson, one cod, 2lb 11½oz; Kevin Donnelly, one cod, 2lb 3½oz; Willy Morton, one cod, 1lb 7½oz; Steve Ayling, one cod, 1lb 7oz; Daniel Frater, one cod, 1lb 3½oz; Andrew Stanton, one flounder, 1lb 2½oz.
