With strong south-westerly winds flattening a dying sea, conditions were going to be difficult for catching cod.
Anglers were finding it hard to locate and catch any fish, but Ian Hall, using all his experience, managed to catch three cod for 5lb 4½oz to win the match.
Steve Scott was second with a slightly better cod of 3lb 9½oz, which was the heaviest fish of the match.
Other weighing in were Antony Abbott, one cod, 3lb 1½oz; John Stephenson, two cod, 2lb 1½oz; Clive Miller, one cod, 1lb 2oz; Anthony Gibbison, one cod, 14½oz; Daniel Frater, one plaice, 14oz; Andy Brown, one flounder, 10oz.
