Alnwick's Lucy Bronze has helped England Women earn a hard-fought draw against Germany this evening.

Right-back Bronze played the full 90 minutes as England followed up their defeat of the Germans in the World Cup with a creditable 0-0 against them in Duisburg.

The Lionesses recorded the famous victory over Silvia Neid's team to finish third in the World Cup in Canada - it was their first victory over the European champions in 21 attempts.

Tonight, they rode their luck, with England's Karen Bardsley being the busiest of the two keepers but they will take heart from the result and the clean sheet as they host Bosnia-Herzegovina in their Euro 2017 qualifier on Sunday.

The match at Bristol City's Ashton Gate kicks off at 15:30 GMT and will be the team's first home appearance since the World Cup.
