Blyth Town fall to 2-0 loss against high-flying Shildon
Blyth Town were beaten 2-0 by Shildon over the weekend.
Blyth Town fell to a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Shildon AFC on Saturday afternoon as their four-game unbeaten streak across all competitions came to a halt.

After drawing three of those last four outings, and beating Prudhoe YC Seniors 5-0 in the Northumberland Senior Cup, Michael Connor’s side stumbled on home soil courtesy of goals from visiting duo Jack Blackford and Benjamin Urwin.
Blackford put Shildon ahead shortly before half-time, with Urwin wrapping up all three points for the high-flying away side in the 82nd minute.
The result leaves Blyth 15th in the Ebac Northern League Division One table, having taken 19 points from their first 16 league fixtures of the new campaign. Moreover, Town have not won a league outing since beating Penrith 4-0 at Gateway Park on August 22nd.
The Northumberland outfit’s next game comes against Northallerton Town at Gateway Park on Tuesday, October 20th, with kick-off scheduled for 7:30pm.
