Bell Bar win battle of Bs

IMPRESSIVE finishing was witnessed at the oche on Friday, as teams returned to league action in the Alnwick Premier Darts League.

The game of the night was undoubtedly Bell Bar B’s narrow 4-3 victory over Oddies B in Division A.

Bill Friar of the Bell and Sean Turner of the Oddies both hit 180s, while Dave Covell checked out on 115 and Sean Turner landed a 119 finish.

Elsewhere in Division A, The George defeated John Bull 4-3.

The Bull started brightly, taking three of the singles, but The George hit back, winning the pairs and team games to take the honours.

Things were less close in the division’s other two matches, with Blue Bell A defeating the Fleece 5-2 and Gate B winning 7-0 against the Farriers.

In Division B, Alnwick Working Men’s Club (AWMC) B whitewashed The Hotspur 7-0, with Geordie Tate hitting a 180 for the winning side.

Alnwick Gate C beat Shilbottle Club 5-2, with A Hayward leading the way for the victors with a 151 check out.

AWMC A won 4-3 at Oddies A while Alnwick Castle Golf Club B grabbed the bragging rights, beating their A team 4-3.
