The Penrose Accumulator: This three-man event was won last week by The Legends team of Kenny Darlow, John Pentleton and Bob Shepherd with a six-under-par team total of 78pts. In second were The Young Pretenders Neil Armstrong, Steve Barron and John Gaines with 75pts on countback from the Vice-Captain’s Select, consisting of Bob Chalmers, Ray Holding and Eric Johnson in third spot. The twos pot was shared between Bob Shepherd, Barry Farrar, Stephen Thompson and not forgetting Jimmy Cookson, who coincidentally all scored their deuces at the second hole.

Walker Cup: Winner Peter Smith; runner-up Jack Friar.

The Inns Merry: Winner Duy Lam; runner-up Ian Hogg.

Reavell Cup: Winner Albert Straughan; runner-up Phill Ginger.

The PO Clarke Trophy: Winner Guy Ridley; runner-up Martin Carss.

Proctor & Makepeace Greensome Stableford: Last Sunday was the rearranged Proctor & Makepeace Greensome Stableford and it turned out to be a very close affair. Winners were father-and-son duo Vince and Jamie Bissett on 36pts on a better back nine from George Carr and David Lightfoot, despite George scoring five points on one hole by hitting a hole-in-one on the 141 yard 12th. Presentation night is on Saturday, October 26. Contact either Stuart or Richard by this weekend as numbers need to be finalised. Guests are welcome.

October Medal: Unfortunately, the weather didn’t hold out for the last few competitions which was a shame as the majority of competitions have been played in really good weather.

Three Club Competition: Winner S Brown nett 75; runner-up K Brydon nett 82.
