WEEK eight of the winter league was played in bright but decidedly chilly conditions.
Hon President Lawrie Stewart showed the rest of the field a clean pair of heels with his 38pts.
No less than six players, all scoring 35pts, were separated only by countback for the minor places.
In the order of merit, Phill Ginger now tops the table by virtue of his third place last week. He swaps places with Tom Greaves who drops into second.
Kevin Murphy remains third and Jimmy Cookson jumps 10 places into equal-fourth spot with Ray Straker.
No twos were recorded and therefore it’s a rollover for next week so be sure to put in your pound boys.
Actually Geoff Dobson did hole out in two at the seventh by holing his 180-yard second shot – unfortunately it was his second ball off the tee after the first one went astray in the gorse bushes, never to be seen again – at least I think that’s what he said.
