Warkworth

TURKEY Trot number three at the Old Links and, with the bogey format and the lengthened winter course, par would seem a good return. However, when free dinners are concerned the field had other ideas.

AJ Burrows took the first spot with a score of 3up, quite appropriate given the amount of rabbits on the course.

Geoff Dunn grabbed nine points with a score of 2up despite being over the wire more than Virgil Hiltz.

On the same score were ‘Liam’ Brennan and R Farrell, whose back nines let them down a shade.

On 1up were Mark Nick and Michael Weightman with the rest of the field down to level getting points.

Back to strokeplay next week for number four and a north wind for a change.
