Mick Hayes Memorial Competition, December 28: With a slight northerly swell and some colour in the water, there was a chance of some fish this week.
There were some good fish caught and it was a very close result with three anglers all weighing in over 15lb of cod.
Paul Buddles did very well to win the match with a good bag of eight codling for 15lb 11½oz, narrowly beating Steve Scott, who also had a good bag of four cod for 15lb 4oz. Third was Kevin Donnelly, who also had four cod for 15lb 1½oz.
Heaviest fish was caught by George Hornsby – a nice conditioned cod of 6lb 2oz.
