A north Northumberland sea-fishing club is set to welcome anglers from all over the region later this month as it hosts one of the North East’s most successful open events.
Amble Sea Angling Club’s 38th Open Shore Championship, run in conjucntion with the Penn Sea League, takes place on Sunday, January 25, with fishing from 9.30am until 2.30pm.
The competition area stretches from the south side of Seahouses Harbour in the north down to the Lynemouth pipe in the south.
Registration takes place at the competition headquarters, the Radcliffe Club in Amble, from 7.30am with the weigh-in taking place at the same venue from 2.30pm to 3.30pm.
Entry is £12 for all classes, with separate competitions for female and junior anglers, and there is a total prize fund of approximately £6,000, including a first prize of £400, a trophy and a Penn reel for the heaviest bag and £250 for the heaviest fish.
