Amble win derby

North Northumberland Bowls League

Top-of-the-table Alnwick visited Amble and not only slipped from the top but sank like a stone, leaving them in fourth place.

The score of 8-0 and shots total of 68-34 takes Amble to the top, closely followed by Wooler, whose 6-2 win and a shots score of 69-46 against Seahouses see them move into second place only one point behind.

Lesbury visited Rothbury and lost 6-2 on a shot total of 75-71. Rothbury, with two games in hand, look firm favourites to be this year’s champions.
