WEEK 9 of the North Northumberland Junior Golf League saw Goswick maintain their lead at the top of the league despite losing away at Alnwick Castle.
Alnwick now find themselves chasing the leaders along with Rothbury and Linden Hall, who are all six points behind the leaders and with a game in hand.
The final few weeks of the season promises to be very watchable as any of the top five teams could win the league title. Alnmouth (Foxton) gave themselves an outside chance with a fine away win at Rothbury, and Seahouses managed a home win against Percy Wood.
Bamburgh’s match against Warkworth was postponed until next week.
Meanwhile, in the knock-out cup Rothbury took home advantage in the semi-final by beating Seahouses and will play the winners of Goswick v Linden Hall with the final to be played at Alnmouth (Foxton) in the coming weeks.
