Alnwick 1sts completed their season in the Northumberland and Tyneside Cricket League with a narrow two run defeat away to Morpeth 1sts.

Morpeth batted first and with Paul Elliott top scoring on 58 and Joe Carrick chipping in with 44, the hosts put on 194-8 in their 50 overs.

Andrew Scott took 3-49 with Max Harrison and Andrew Wright taking two wickets apiece.

In reply, Ben Threfall hit 82 and fellow opener Andrew Scott 56, but with Robert Green on 30 the only other bat to contribute, they fell short on 192.

Kuman Dhugga and Jack Concannon each took three wickets.

Alnmouth and Lesbury 1sts ended their campaign with a 19 run away win at Whickham.

Alnmouth batted steadily and put on 205 (Jhy Berry 39, Charles Anderson 36 and Callum Batey 34), with Matthew Rodger taking 4-33.

Whickham replied with 186 all out (Lee Hargreaves 50), with Paul Straker, Russell Hughes and Robin Tudor taking two wickets apiece.
