Alnmouth hang on to trophy for another year

Kaims Country Park North Northumberland League

The final week of an absorbing season saw Alnmouth (Foxton) retain the A Division title by four shots following an 8-4 home victory over Alnwick.

But credit must go to Dunstanburgh who pushed them all the way. Their challenge finally ended with a 5-7 home defeat to Bamburgh.

Earlier, Magdalene Fields A clinched the B Division championship with a 9-3 win over Linden Hall in a re-arranged fixture, both teams being promoted.

Alnmouth B are relegated from A Division, with only one team going down on this occasion to help balance the difference in numbers between the two divisions.

All in all, another successful season with the league fortunate to escape the worst of the weather.
