Home Bargains has introduced new rules for its customers in an attempt to keep both workers and shoppers safe during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

What are the new rules for shoppers?
Limiting the number of customers
The chain is limiting the number of customers allowed into each of their stores at any one time. If a store reaches its limit, then team members will ask customers to queue outside until there is space. Stores also include signage and floor markings inside and outside.
When the queuing system is in place, priority access is being given to NHS and care workers. They will need to bring their ID when they shop. Priority access is also being given to disabled and elderly customers.

Home Bargains has also asked customers to shop alone if possible.
Encouraging customers to pay by card
Although staff are still accepting cash payments, customers are encouraged to pay by card whenever possible. Contactless payments have been increased to a limit of £45. Perspex screens have also been installed at all tills, alongside floor markings to help maintain a two metre gap.
Other measures in place
Posters will be displayed around the store which reinforce the importance of hand-washing social distancing, and respiratory hygiene.
There will also be tannoy announcements played out to remind shoppers to socially distance, and staff have access to sanitiser whenever they need it.
