As part of McDonald’s beloved Monopoly event, the fast food chain is launching a much coveted gold card this year.
This is everything you need to know about the gold card, including how to get one, the benefits of having one and when it’ll be released to the public.
What is the McDonald’s Gold Card?
While chains like Nandos and Greggs already have exclusive loyalty cards, McDonald’s lovers have been asking for one for years.
A McDonald’s spokesperson said: “After years of requests, McDonald’s is launching a VIP Gold Card… No Brit Award required.”
The VIP Gold Card will entitle the holder to a free meal a week for a whole year via the My McDonald’s app, which is available on iOS and Android devices.
How do I get one?
However, there’s just one way to get an exclusive McDonald’s Gold Card. A spokesperson for McDonald’s explained: “The only way you can get your hands on a McDonald’s Gold Card is to play, if Stormzy and Ed Sheeran want one, they’ll have to play [McDonald’s] Monopoly.”
When you play McDonald’s Monopoly, you also have the chance of winning other prizes.
While the prize list this year hasn’t been released yet, previous years have seen winners bag £10,000 in cash, shopping vouchers, phones and even cars.
When will it be available?
McDonald’s UK Twitter said: “The game has changed. The #McDonaldsVIP Gold Card is here. Exclusively available through Monopoly from 25th March. No blue tick required.”
The tweet confirms that McDonald’s Monopoly will kick off later this month, on Wednesday 25 March.
