The breathless return of football continues next week with the return of both the Champions League and Europa League.

The cream of European football will battle it out in a condensed format of the tournaments, starting with incomplete last 16 ties.

Over the course of just under three weeks, both tournaments will be complete in what is set to be a frenetic finale to the European football season.

Here’s everything you need to know about the conclusions of both the Champions League and the Europa League.

Where will the remaining Champions League fixtures take place?

The remaining Champions League fixtures will be played out in Portugal’s capital, Lisbon.

Lisbon’s two major stadia: Estadio da Luz, home of Benfica, and Sporting’s Estadio Jose Alvalade will share the final games. It has not yet been decided which of the two will host the final.

When does the Champions League return?

Champions League football will return on August 7.

Football was suspended during the last 16 rounds of the Champions League and as a result the tournament will resume with the conclusion of those ties across August 7 and 8.

Champions League schedule

Last 16: August 7 and 8

Quarter-finals: August 12, 13, 14 and 15

Semi-finals: August 18 and 19

Final: August 23

Where will the remaining Europa League fixtures take place?

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the remainder of the Europa League fixtures will be played at neutral venues in Germany.

The neutral venues are the RheinEnergieStadion, MSV-Arena, Merkur Spiel-Arena and Arena AufSchalke.

The two last 16 ties yet to play a first leg will have their result decided over just one leg.

When does the Europa League return?

The tournament will resume on August 5.

The eight last 16 ties will be played on either August 5 or August 6.

Europa League schedule
