Safety issue for coffin bearers

I read with interest Josephine Matthews’ comments regarding the council grass cutting and not collecting it afterwards and the response from the council that it is their policy to allow the grass to disperse on the plot.

This does not seem to be the case when they cut the churchyard grass at Holy Trinity Church, Embleton, as the cuttings are left all over the approach path to the church which surely could constitute a Health and Safety issue for the coffin bearers as the carry a coffin to and from the church.

A few minutes with a blower would quickly return the cuttings to their mother plot.
