PLAYHOUSE: A diverse, full programme

In response to your concern that in January the Playhouse is only showing opera, (Northumberland Gazette, July 21), the autumn programme runs from September to January and is not yet fully online. The brochure is due out in the next two weeks.

The website is a wonderful tool to get things on sale as soon as possible and only shows what is currently on sale, not the full planned programmed.

We do have something for everyone, including Bridget Jones’ Baby on the UK national release date, a live streaming of Michael Buble Tour Stop 148 and the David Bowie Exhibition from the V&A in London.

Live music artists include two nights of Joe McElderry, Ralph McTell, Alistair Anderson and Northlands, and I wonder that you didn’t spot in January that there was no panto. January is never complete without Alnwick Theatre Club’s annual pantomime, which this year is Cinderella.

The Creative Cocoon initiative is a new dedicated programme of performances, events and activities for families with children under 10 years.

I do hope this helps you appreciate the bigger picture, plus the range and diversity of the Playhouse programme our small team of staff work so hard to bring to Alnwick.

Jo Potts,

Alnwick Playhouse Manager
