Pirates bring their treasure

On behalf of Boulmer Volunteer Rescue Service (BVRS) may I say a huge thank-you to everyone who came to our Pirate and Petticoats fancy-dress fund-raising event on Saturday, August 23.

We raised more than £2,000, which was tremendous.

Thank you to our small team of crew and committee who worked so hard before, during and after the event to make it such a success.

A special thank-you must go to Tiny Afro, who entertained us once again with their music and songs and to Wim and his band of ‘merry’ men.

Thank you to our most generous donators of several barrels of real ale and cider, Marine Engine Servicing, South End Plumbing, Coquetdale Brewery, Yvonne Shevels, Fintan Bavidge and Mr and Mrs Durie.

Also we would like to thank the fish-and-chip van for a lively supper and lastly, thank you to everyone who came and enjoyed themselves, dressed up and dug deep into their pockets to raise much-needed funds for our lifeboat. Roll on next year.
