PARKING: Excessive controls

Now that extensive double yellow lines have been painted on the lane west of Alnmouth Railway Station I am left wondering where people should now park when, as often happens , both car parks are full?

It amazes me that the council would undertake such a half-baked scheme after the lobbying of a few people living in the lane – who all have private driveways anyway – to the detriment of greater numbers of local council tax payers and Northumberland residents who had no alternative but to park perfectly sensibly there as they catch trains for business or leisure reasons.

I am aware that there are negotiations to extend car-park capacity but to put the lines down before that is created is excessive.

Sometimes the greater good needs to be considered.
