The idea of strip mining in beautiful Druridge Bay, within yards of a Site of Scientific Interest, and damaging our £750million tourism economy, is bad enough.
Now we learn at a public meeting that we would all, in effect, be subsidising the mining company’s profits since the multi-million preparation costs of moving power lines and sewage works will be met from our utility bills.
Enough is enough: no say, no pay.
To coincide with the miner’s planning application just going in, please can the Gazette organise a poll of local opinion?
Do we want this abomination, and do we want to pay for it?
