Not the only ones to tap into ale revival

WHILE I wish David, Chris, and Ian (directors Alnwick Brewery) all the best for their new venture, there is a factual inaccuracy in David Ainsley’s letter of March 15.

He states: “No other single local brewery company can offer that choice [six styles] of classic cask ales in quantity to its customers.”

At our small and perfectly formed brewery in the corner of the square at Newton-by-the-Sea we have been producing fine classic ales for the last four years.

We now produce 18 quality beers, with many more on the way - at the moment the recipes are forming in the head of our excellent brewer Micheal Hegarty!

Our beer is very well regarded, a fact noted by CAMRA in the award given to us of “North Northumberland pub of the year (joint first with the Barrels pub in Berwick.”

May I wish Alnwick Brewery every success in their hunt for a local premises.
