Many thanks

I WOULD like to say a huge thank-you to the many people who supported the Alnwick Baptist Church stall in the community market on Sunday, September 25.

In total, we raised over £300 for the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institute, which is a great effort.

The food festival is a great weekend and shows Alnwick off at its very best.

It is extremely well run by dedicated and enthusiastic volunteers and it was a privilege to play our part in it.

l ON behalf of the Rothbury Branch of the Royal British Legion, I would like to thank all those who supported our coffee morning on Saturday, September 24, in the Jubilee Hall.

In particular, I would like to thank all those kind people who donated prizes for our tombola and raffle and those who made the lovely scones and cakes for the produce stall.

Finally, a great big thank-you to the ladies who manned the stalls, the door and the served the tea, coffee and biscuits, you made the event run very smoothly.

The total raised was £351.40 nett.

Well done everyone.

l ALNWICK Food Festival – well done and a big thank-you.

We attended the festival for the first time as a food stall business in the Market Place with our artisan ice cream and wanted to say a big thank-you to Karen Larkin, festival director, the festival committee and her team of helpers for a very well organised and executed event.

Yes, the weather helped and the visitors attended, however, the event would not be the success that it was without their effort, planning and logistics, which from an exhibitor perspective were excellent, well done.

We would also like to praise the local producers who attended the festival with their wide range of food types, all of which reflect the quality of our local and regional foods and products, all of whom demonstrate the care and passion with which they make, display and talk knowledgably about their produce.

Also, as a ‘newby’ to the festival Market Place, we were made to feel very welcome by the other more seasoned stallholders and enjoyed the help, friendship, banter and camaraderie – thank you.

We hope to see you all again and more next year.
