A LOCAL Heritage Lottery-funded project, Sheep Tales and Spinning Yarns, is making a record of our sheep-farming and shepherding heritage for current and future generations of people who live in and visit Glendale and north Northumberland.

We would like to sincerely thank all those people who have so far contributed to the project. Through their generosity, we are collating a most amazing photographic and oral record. A selection of contributions can now be viewed at www.sheeptales.org.uk

We are continuing to develop this and along with photographs, are now looking for old cinefilm that documents shepherding life in this area. If any of your readers have or know of film that Berwick Record Office could digitise and make available for public viewing, we would return it to them along with a digitised copy.

We are also looking for additions to our teaching resource. If anyone has any shepherding related artefacts they would be prepared to long-term loan to the project we would be very grateful.
