I WONDER if through your paper that I could let the elderly people know about two clubs I hold on a Monday and Thursday.
They are held in Druridge Bay Community Centre in Hadston, we start 9.30am to 1pm, but they can come to the centre from 9am.
A cup of tea or coffee and biscuits at 9.30am, then we may play some exercise games, bingo or talk, transport can be arrange, locally.
The reason I started these clubs was when the clubs closed they were upset as they would have no where to go.
The Monday club has been going now for two years. The Thursday club has been going now for three months.
I have been able to take them on trips, have a meal out also a pantomime as well.
I have a very good group of volunteers that help, they make sure everyone is happy, if you would like to come and see for yourself you are most welcome.
It’s just now that some centres are closing for the elderly, its just to let them know that they is a place for them if they would like to come.
