I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mrs Hazel Jenkins for all the hard work she has put in to Broomhill First School over her time there and indeed the community as a whole.
It was great to be invited to her leaving assembly on July 19 where we were met with such a warmth and genuine love for a lady who has served one of our schools for many years. I have personally had the honour of working with Hazel in her school and must confirm she really is a remarkable woman.
The children’s performances and the effort put in to show their headteacher just how much they loved her was a testament in itself.
Hazel has always been an energetic, caring and dedicated head who has gone over and beyond her call of duty. Our council has always been invited to participate and has enjoyed being part of school life during Hazel’s leadership.
We really hope that she has the well-deserved and long retirement. We look forward to coming in contact with her in some capacity in the future. We will miss her as one of our area’s heads but hope she has the most enjoyable retirement.
