FESTIVAL: Committee did wonderful job

As visitors who have been attending the Alnwick International Music Festival for many years, we wanted to congratulate the committee for such a successful week.

While the festival was different from previous years owing to the well documented reasons, the volunteer committee did a wonderful job to fill the town for eight days with such a variety of music representing many cultures.

It must have been disheartened to read the letter from ‘named and address supplied’. Rather than criticise, perhaps he/she should join the small band of volunteers who plan and organise the festival.

The week certainly ended with a spectacular bang, with the Ukrainian dance group and Taiko Dojo drummers.

We spoke to many people who had come from far and wide for the festival and who were enjoying the programme, and like us, looked forward to returning in 2017.
