I read with interest your article on the widow who received a parking ticket.
My good lady received a ticket in Alnwick for being out of time. She had a valid ticket with 40 minutes still to go but according to the warden it was out of time.
We challenged the penalty charge and received an apology and the ticket was quashed.
I think that this is far from satisfactory and would suggest that wardens should go to Specsavers and learn the 24-hour clock and be taught basic manners.
These predators will force people away from an already struggling Alnwick.
We never suffered such problems when parking was in the control of the police. So what did the police do right that the council is doing wrong?
