Youngsters visit police station
The Alnwick Neighbourhood Police Team opened the doors to local primary schools and a child-care group for a visit to the station, to give them an insight into the workings of the police front office and custody suite.
Children and carers had a tour of the cells; were shown where breath samples are taken from people who have been arrested for drink-driving; and visited the interview room and photograph/finger-print room.
During the 90-minute trip, the visitors saw and heard the lights and horns on the police cars and tried on police uniform.
