Youngsters trek along coastal path
The group from Lydgate School in New Mill, West Yorkshire, started in Cresswell on Monday, May 16, and walked north to their finish point at Berwick on Sunday. The plucky youngsters, aged between 12 and 16, took part in the event to raise money for the school’s outdoor adventures fund. They collected cash through sponsorship.
Among those to take part was a student with cerebral palsy, one with dyspraxia and one with a chromosome disorder. The team stayed at Alnwick Youth Hostel and used a van to take them to various locations so they could walk a different section each day.
