Youngsters learn about First World War
The Western Front Association has been working with pupils at St Paul's RCVA Primary School in Alnwick.
As part of their project, the children were involved in a writing and painting competitrion.
Colin Buxton and Neil Brison, from the Association, are pictured with the competition winners around the school’s Remembrance display.
This year marks the centenary of the Battle of the Somme and the Northumberland branch of the Western Front Association has been involved in a number of activities to mark 100 years since one of the key battles of the First World War, such as two screenings of the original film, The Battle of the Somme, which took place at the Bailiffgate Museum, Alnwick, last month.
In 2015, the group was involved in the commemoration of the January 1915 march of the 1st Tyneside Scottish from Newcastle to Alnwick, where they began their training at the camp on the Pastures.
