The pupils at Whittingham C of E First School have been shopping until they drop in recent weeks.

The school’s PTA (Parent Teacher Association) was lucky enough to have the use of the former Collectables shop in Alnwick for one week as a pop-up shop.

It followed the success of the pop-up shop in the town in the summer, which raised a huge total of £4,350. This time, £2,500 was raised.

The school has thanked Douglas Conn for enabling the use of the shop.

Meanwhile, the children enjoyed a Christmas shopping day as part of the PTA’s fund-raising activities.

Every year, the PTA collect donations of small items suitable for family Christmas presents. The children spend 50p per item and can shop for the whole family.

Parents and friends of the school help the children wrap the presents so they can be hidden away as a very special surprise on Christmas Day.
