Tritlington Young Farmers recently presented a cheque of £4,000 to children’s charity, Action Medical Research.

The money was raised at the club’s steak and strawberries afternoon/evening at Todburn Equestrian Centre in July.

Around 250 people attended the fund-raiser, which also featured a raffle, auction, live music and disco.

The charity has been funding medical breakthroughs which directly save children’s lives since 1952. The cheque was presented by Tritlington Young Farmers to Helen Scott, who is treasurer for the charity’s Alnwick branch. Tritlington Young Farmers has about 25 members, all of whom helped with the fund-raiser.

Chairman Tim Michie said he was delighted with the event and the total raised.
