Work has started to stabilise a wall which partially collapsed at the end of October.
The gable end of Oscars’ Bar on Narrowgate crumbled into Bow Alley after concerns were raised about the side of the building.
In July, the area was closed off by Northumberland County Council for health and safety reasons, following concerns that part of the wall was distorted and could come down.
Now work has started for a short-term solution to stabilise the building.
A huge crane has been at the site and the road from Narrowgate to Bailiffgate is closed while work is carried out.
