Wooler Parish Council round-up: Christmas lights, transport and land boundary

A group is likely to be set up to look at upgrading and extending the Christmas lights in Wooler.

It follows a discussion at the August meeting of the parish council at which resident Nicki Aspin shared some ideas and views from locals.

• The council’s three priorities for funding from the county council’s Local Transport Plan 2017/18 are: Construction of a footpath from the junction of Berwick Road and the A697 up to the industrial estate; a pedestrian crossing from Bank of Scotland to the Co-op; and the widening of Ramseys Lane.

• After a meeting with the trustees of Wooler Bowling Club and some research, it was accepted the boundary between parish council and bowling club land was incorrect. Councillors have agreed to an amendment in the title.
