Bill Ward, award-winning photographer and actor, gave a presentation to members of Wooler and District Camera Club, on Thursday, April 28, in which he described his approach to photography as “a journey with no pre-determined destination”.

He explained how he strives to create images that capture the essence of being in a particular place at a particular time whilst conveying the moods and emotions that location arouses. Time spent observing the location before starting to take photographs is invaluable. It helps to sharpen the senses and eliminate distractions.

Bill described many of his techniques and his constant search for new approaches to familiar subjects, particularly water.

His presentation was inspirational and stimulating, and greatly appreciated.

This was the club’s last meeting this season. It starts again on September 8. In the meantime, members will have public exhibitions at the Glendale Festival in July and the Glendale Show at the end of August.
