A woman is in a critical condition in hospital after falling from her horse at a Northumberland village this morning.
A Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) spokeswoman said that she sustained multiple life-threatening injuries.
The incident took place in Whalton, near Morpeth, and the service was called at 11am.
“Following advanced treatment by the GNAAS doctor-led trauma team, the woman – who is in her 60s – was flown to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle within six minutes,” the spokeswoman added.
“She arrived in a critical condition.”
