Coastguards from Amble and Howick, as well as representatives of the Northumberland Fire and Rescue Service, were called to assist the North East Ambulance Service after the casualty had fallen at Seaton Point, Boulmer, after around 10am. She had been walking with friends and dogs.
A spokesman from Humber Coastguard said: “We were called because there was a danger of an incoming tide. We got down there as soon as possible. It appears that she has possibly broken her ankle and she is on her way to hospital.”
