Woman in court after Northumberland playground dog attack
A woman appeared in court this morning after 11 children were bitten by a dog in a Northumberland playground.
Claire Neal, 37, of Chasedale Crescent, Blyth, pleaded not guilty to a charge of being the owner of a dog that was dangerously out of control.
Up to 11 children were bitten when the dog, a tan-coloured Staffordshire bull terrier, got into a play area in Burns Avenue, Blyth, at 6.30pm on Wednesday.
Three of the children were kept in hospital overnight for treatment.
Neal was remanded in custody by magistrates in Newcastle and will next appear at crown court on June 3.
