Woman flown to hospital after fall from horse

A woman was flown to hospital by the Great North Air Ambulance after falling from a horse and then down a 30 foot slope near Wooler on Sunday.

The lady, in her sixties, suffered head, pelvis, hip and leg injuries.

She was treated by North East Ambulance Service crew and air ambulance staff before being airlifted to Newcastle RVI.

Her injuries were not life-threatening and she was stable on arrival at hospital.
