Woman fighting for her life in hospital after three-vehicle collision in Northumberland

A woman was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries after a crash in Northumberland.

A yellow Peugeot 1007, black Vauxhall Zafira and a heavy goods vehicle were involved in the incident, which took place in North Seaton, Ashington, at the junction of Woodhorn Lane and Wansbeck Hospital.

Emergency services were called to the scene at around 10.55am on Wednesday, January 8.

The woman taken to hospital remains in a critical but stable condition.

Sergeant Dave Roberts, of Northumbria Police’s Motor Patrols Department, is appealing for witnesses.

He said: “This was a serious collision sadly resulting in a woman being taken to hospital in a critical condition.

“Officers are now carrying out inquiries into the collision itself and the events that preceded it.

“If anybody saw the collision, or has dashcam footage that can assist with the investigation, we would urge you to get in touch.”
