Police are appealing for information after copper cable was stolen from a shed in Felton.
The burglary happened between 12.30am and 1am on Saturday, February 6, when offenders made off with the cable from an insecure shed in the village.
Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area to get in touch.
Officers are also advising residents to take simple crime prevention steps to help stop themselves from being a victim of crime.
Shed burglaries can be prevented by taking simple security measures such as using quality padlocks and replacing standard hinges with strap hinges secured by coach bolts or non-return screws.
Garden side gates should be locked as an intruder climbing over is more likely to be seen as suspicious than one that just opens the gate and walks in.
Security lighting is also a deterrent, and portable shed alarms can scare off intruders.
Bikes in particular need additional security locks and chains within the garage or shed, as they are increasingly becoming the target for thieves. All property should also be security marked.
Anyone with information to help should contact police on 101 quoting reference 0425 06/02/16, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
