Police are appealing for information after a car hit a pedestrian and another vehicle in a Northumberland town.

The collision happened at 7.30pm on Wednesday, in the Market Place in Hexham. A car knocked a pedestrian over before crashing into another vehicle. The pedestrian, a woman in her 30s, suffered facial injuries as a result of the collision and received hospital treatment.

Officers are carrying out inquiries and keen to speak to anyone who saw a silver Volkswagen Golf being driven in the area shortly before the collision to get in contact. A 29-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the collision and has been released on police bail.
