An Alnwick opticians is celebrating its first birthday in style this summer by giving away 10 pairs of designer glasses worth £1,500.
The eyecare experts at Specsavers, led by Grant Welsh, are marking their first anniversary in their Bondgate store this July by giving back to the community that has welcomed them with open arms.
In its first year in the town’s historic Davison building, the team has also donated £12,000 between no fewer than 14 local causes, supporting everything from the Christmas lights to the Round Table duck race.
And from Monday to Sunday, August 5, customers can enter a prize draw in store to be in with a chance to taking home a pair of designer glasses worth £149, with 25 per cent off glasses during this time.
And younger visitors are invited to join in the celebrations on Saturday, August 4, when there will be goody bags to go.
Grant said: “We were immediately made to feel at home here in Alnwick and we’re so grateful to the community for the support we’ve received.
“As a Northumberland boy, returning home and opening this store has been a real labour of love for me. We’ve tried to show our appreciation in return, committing upwards of £12,000 towards various local events over the last 12 months.”
